Franco Corelli, with whom she studied in Milan as a scholar of the Bel Canto Society New York, already recognised a Tosca in her. The soprano Lenka Möbius is at home in the youthful-dramatic repertoire and performs internationally in opera, song and concert. From Mozart to Wagner, she is praised for her vocal range, from the most delicate piano to great dramatic outbursts, and for her immediate stage presence. She has appeared at the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Residenz in Munich, the Gasteig, and in her home city at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg.

In 2019 she founded her label Freebird Opera and has since developed her own programmes as author, singer and producer. These include the chamber version of Die Walküre, which she presented in Bayreuth, and the homage to Fanny Hensel, “Ich, Fanny, kann es” (“I, Fanny, Can Do It”), which she will premiere with the Levante Piano Trio on 7 March 2027 at the Mendelssohn-Remise in Berlin. She also launched further programmes at the Goethe Museum Düsseldorf, among other places. She focuses on intimacy, fine detail, fidelity to the work and room for the artistic personalities who bring a performance to life. That is no coincidence for a singer who also studied illustration in Hamburg, Milan and Paris – a school of storytelling without words. The audience thanks her with standing ovations, and Online Merker called her Walküre “an experience of a special kind”.

Her path leads right across music history. With the baroque ensemble Fiori Musicali she appeared in Florence, she performed Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with the chamber orchestra of the Munich Philharmonic, and Mozart’s Requiem on the anniversary of his death in a television broadcast in Ukraine. As a Puccini interpreter she worked with the Neue Frankfurter Philharmonie. New music is also part of her profile: Criside in Maderna’s Satyricon, world premieres and the International Schönberg Festival. At the International Theatre Festival Moscow she was a guest with an award-winning production. Her roles currently include Dido, Sieglinde, Emilia Marty, Manon Lescaut, Zemfira and the Composer; in concert she has sung Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Tippett’s A Child of Our Time and Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder.

Lenka Möbius completed the postgraduate music theatre programme with Prof. Scardicchio in Bari, was a master student of Mirella Freni, Grace Bumbry, Felicia Weathers and Norman Shetler, and has been supported by the Richard Wagner Foundation, the DAAD, the German Music Council, the Berlin Senate and the BMI, among others. She taught singing at the TheaterWerk München and has for years sung at the benefit concerts of the Berlin Cancer Society.
