Ich, Fanny, kann es
“It must be a sign of talent that I do not give up, even though I cannot get anyone to take an interest in my efforts.”
– Fanny Hensel
… is a homage to Fanny Hensel – one of the most significant women composers of German Romanticism. Because of her role as a woman, she was long overlooked.
From the very first song, the internationally experienced soprano Lenka Möbius and the award-winning pianist Amin Helou are drawn to Hensel’s passionate compositions. Contemporaries such as Goethe, Heine or Gounod had by no means overlooked Hensel’s talent. Anecdotes about this complement the selected songs and piano works, the core of Hensel’s output. The Levante Piano Trio rounds off the concert and, together with the narrated episodes, paints a vivid picture of Fanny Hensel and her circle.
Whether you love Romantic music, are interested in fascinating biographies or are simply curious about an inspiring evening – Ich, Fanny, kann es warmly invites you to experience the depth and beauty of Fanny Hensel’s music and to celebrate this great composer together.
